The G series of SOCs uses the HyperEngine technology of Mediatek. The HyperEngine is the proprietary game technology of Mediatek which boost the smartphones’s gaming features. It provides vivid visuals (Faster framerates and HDR visuals), faster response for touch (60% shorter GPU rendering-to-display latency pipeline) and enhanced internet connectivity (Intelligent prediction of Wi-Fi & LTE concurrency triggers in 13 milliseconds) for better gaming experience.
The HyperEngine game technology would also be providing improved CPU, GPU and Memory Mangement for smooth performance, even during intense gameplay. It would also provide better power efficiency level for longer gameplay. Meditek Helio G70 and G80 chipset will be providing all the quality features in terms of Camera, Multimedia, Connectity and AI, along with optimized gaming capabilities.
The Helio G70 chipset is powered by two ARM Cortex-A75 CPUs and six Cortex-A55 CPUs. The ARM Cortex-A75 CPUs can provide clock speeds of upto 2.0 Ghz, whereas the ARM Cortex-A55 CPUs can provide clock speeds upto 1.7 Ghz. The G70 Chipset can be used with upto 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. For gaming purpose, the G70 Mediatek chipset comes with Mali-G52 class GPU, which can provide upto 820 Mhz clock speed. The G70 chipset supports Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Camera Control Unit (CCU), and Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) technology (for improved video panning and ultra-fast recording). Voice on Wake-up, Secure ISP Design for ultra fast face unlocking, Fast AI performance and Intertial Navigation System are the other major features of the G70 SOC.
Mediatek Helio G80 SOC is created for gamers who like to play games on daily basis. It provides better specifications than the G70 processors. The G80 SOC has a pair of ARM Cortex-A75 CPUs with upto 2.0 Ghz clock speed. Apart from the Cortex-A75 CPUs, G80 has 6 ARM Cortex-A55 processors with 1.8 Ghz clock speed. It also has ARM Mali- G52 class GPU, which can provide upto 950 Mhz. Apart from the slightly improved ARM Cortex-A55 clock speeds and Mali-G52 GPU clock speed, all the other specifications of the G70 and G80 are same.
