Threye: Military Games has released a flight simulator game in collaboration with the Indian Air Force on 31st July, 2019. The game has been named IAF- A Cut Above and is now available for iOS and Android. The game has been created by Threye: Military Games, which has previously worked on smartphones games like Guardians of the Skies and Operation Morning Glory.
IAF- A Cut Above launched for Android and iOS
IAF- A Cut Above is a flight simulator game where players will be able to fly a number of aircrafts, which are there in Indian Air Force. The game has been fully developed in India. It has a score of 4.6 stars in the Google Playstore with mostly favorable reviews. The size of the game is around 300Mb and hence can be supported by even low-end smartphones. Within a few days of its release, the game has been downloaded more than 100,000 times.
The home screen of IAF- A Cut Above shows the figure of a pilot in uniform. The players can change the name in the Nameplate of the pilot figure. By default, the nameplate of the pilot figure shows the name of the legendary Indian pilot- Abhinandan. You can also customize the look of your character and add patches to the uniform after registering for the game by clicking on the account icon at the top-right side of the screen. You can also make your character look like yourself in order to know how you would look as an Indian Airforce Pilot. The default look of your character would be that of Indian Air Force Pilot- Abhinandan Varthaman.
The game has a total of three sections, which are- Training, Single Player and Free Flight. The players can train in the training section to learn how to fly aircraft within the game. Below the Training section, you will find the Single Player section. There are a total of 10 missions in IAF- A Cut Above with one mission on the Surgical Strike. All the missions in the game are varied. Some missions require you to transport items from one place to another while others are combat missions. The players will have to complete each mission with 3 stars in order to be able to move to the next mission.
The players can also take free flight over the skies in their favorite IAF aircraft in the Free Flight section. The game provides a total of 7 IAF Aircraft options to the players for taking free flight, which are- Hawk, Mi-17, C17, Apache, Mirage 2000, Su-30 and Rafale. There are three camera views for the Aircraft which allow the players to watch the sky from different areas of the IAF Aircrafts. During the gameplay, the players will be able to fire bullets and missiles on their enemies from their aircraft. The players can also drop SPICE missiles on the targets by even controlling the direction of the SPICE missiles.
The online multiplayer of the IAF- A Cut Above is also under development and will be releasing soon. By releasing this game, the Indian Air Force wants to inspire the youth of the nation to join the Indian Air Force. The game would allow the players to experience the life of an Indian Pilot. The game would encourage the new generation of youth to know more about the Indian Air Force and to consider IAF as their career option.
